Sprouted Whole Wheat Bread

Wow! What a difference a few sprouts can make.

Read My Blog to see what I mean.

Sprouted Whole Wheat bread, Nancy Walker, Healthy Eating

Ingredients
  • 1 cup soy milk, warmed
  • 2 T oil
  • 2 T molasses
  • ¾ tspn salt
  • 1 cup sprouted wheat berries
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 T vital wheat gluten
  • 2 ¼ tspn yeast

Directions

      1. Mix all ingredients by hand or in mixer with bread hook(s) for approximately 15 minutes.
      2. Place in greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place, free of drafts.
      3. Let rise for approximately 1 hr, until the dough doubles in size.
      4. Punch down, knead lightly and form into loaf shape.  Place in bread pan and cover.  Let rise for approximately 45 minutes, until doubled in size again.
      5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.  (During the last 20 minutes, tent loosely with aluminum foil to prevent over browning.)
      6. Immediately remove from pan and let cool on wire rack.
